UMBERSOUND, the doom metal solo project of GREY SKIES FALLEN’s Joe D’Angelo, has released the new album, entitled “If The Flies Could Sing”. The full-length, composed by 10 tracks for over 44 minutes of visionary musical experience, is available as vinyl and digitally.
The artist has released a new music video for the mesmerizing title-track. It captures the heavy consequence of one’s actions, unveiling a moment of reckoning where escape is no longer an option. UMBERSOUND’s new album “If The Flies Could Sing” delves into a realm where decay and beauty intertwine, creating a sonic landscape that is as haunting as it is profound. Inspired by the inevitable collapse of all things, the album explores themes of death, transformation, and the quiet desperation that lingers in forgotten places. With each track, the album paints vivid images of decaying nature, and the eerie stillness of silence broken only by the hum of flies.
Musically, “If The Flies Could Sing” pushes the boundaries of doom metal with its theatrically atmospheric slow riffs, multiple layers, and moments of stark vulnerability. The album is going for a very analog, almost cursed dream state feel. Joe, the creative force behind Umbersound, merges suffocating heaviness with delicate, ethereal passages, creating a contrast that reflects the delicate balance between life and death, being at ease and uncomfortableness, love and hatred.
From the opening fade in of distortion to the final depressive, contemplative last acoustic note, “If The Flies Could Sing” is a visceral journey through the darker corners of existence.
